Rules and conditions of entryRACE INFORMATION
IMPORTANT INFORMATION The start and finish point for the New Plymouth Joggers & Walkers Half Marathon (organised by NP Joggers and Walkers Club) is Pukekura Raceway Function Centre, Mason Drive, New Plymouth. The Pukekura Raceway Function Centre will be the headquarters on Race Day and changing facilities are available.
ELIGIBILITY Open to all over the age of 16 years. Children under the age of 16 can run or walk as long as we have their parent/guardian’s signature on the entry form. We recommend young children competing on the course are accompanied by an adult.
TIME LIMIT Official time keeping is 4 hours.
REGISTRATION / RACE PACKS SATURDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER PICK UP from the Quality Hotel Plymouth International, Cnr of Courtenay & Leach Sts, New Plymouth between 12.00pm – 3.00pm.
RACE NUMBERS Participants must wear race numbers high on the front of their T-shirt/singlet. Please do not fold or deface the number. Information sheets will be included in the pack with the race number.
TRANSPONDERS Official times will be recorded by the transponders which are attached to your Race Number.
TIMEKEEPING Overall finish time will be recorded by Sports Timing via a transponder attached to your Race Number.
START TIMES
The road is narrow in some places. Please – not more than two abreast and single file when cars are approaching.
WALKERS Walking scrutineers will be on duty during the event. Their decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
TEAM EVENT ONE partner only for walking and running teams. Change over Frankley/Hurworth corner. Each team member is eligible for a spot prize.
TOILETS Toilets are available at Frankley/Hurworth corner for half marathon runners/walkers.
DRINK STATIONS FOR HALF MARATHON Drink stations will be at approximately 5, 10, 14 and 18 km’s.
ANIMALS / VEHICLES / EARPHONES For your safety no pets, baby buggies or earphones are allowed in the event. Competitors with pets, baby buggies, earphones will be disqualified. Given the nature of the country roads it is unsafe for cars and bikes to follow the participants.
FINISHERS Finisher certificates will be available to download online at www.npjw.co.nz.
ENTRIES Enries are in NZD (New Zealand dollars) ENTER AT www.npjw.co.nz Earlybird Entry Fee – up to 22nd September 2017. Late Entry – 23rd September – 3:00pm 30th September. Online late entries are only available until 28th September 2017.

MANUAL ENTRIES POST TO: The Secretary, NP Joggers and Walkers Club, PO Box 4221, New Plymouth 4340. Cheques payable to New Plymouth Joggers and Walkers or you are able to enter at The Frontrunner – cash or cheque only.
EARLY BIRD ENTRY Enter by 22nd September and you will be entered into a special prize draw, which will be presented at prizegiving. All entries received in store at Frontrunner are eligible for a separate prize draw.
REFUNDS There will be no refunds of race entry fee should you not participate, unless the organisers are notified in writing 14 days prior to event.

OWN RISK All competitors compete at their own risk. New Plymouth Joggers and Walkers Club or sponsors accept no responsibility as detailed on the conditions signed at entry.
FRONTRUNNER With proof of entry to our 37th Half Marathon – receive 15% discount from our Silver Sponsor FRONTRUNNER for the period 31st July – 1st October 2017.
HEALTH 2000 For all entrants HEALTH 2000 is offering a 10% discount until race day (and please “LIKE” our Facebook page).
CANCELLATION In extreme weather or Force Majeure the event may be cancelled at any time. In this situation entry fees are non refundable, although we will do our best to reschedule the event.
MERCHANDISE T-SHIRTS T-shirts are able to be ordered on the entry form and on the day, if available.
REFRESHMENTS & FOOD Refreshments will be available for purchase at the venue throughout the day.
PHOTOGRAPHS A photographer will be at the finish line taking photos and will endeavour to photograph all participants. Photos will be available at www.npjw.co.nz within 24 hours of the event. See inside your race pack for further information.
PRIZEGIVING Prizegiving will be held in the main grandstand at the Pukekura Park Raceway, Mason Drive, New Plymouth commencing at 1:00pm.
Thousands of dollars worth of Spot Prizes will be presented at 1:00pm. To be eligible, competitors must finish and be present at the prizegiving. If not, their prize will be re-drawn.
